Low Creek Rising

[Verse 1] Clouds are rolling dark over valley floor Creaking hinges on the cellar door Tin roof singing with the first cool drop Waiting for the summer heat to finally stop [Chorus] Let the river rise, let the water roll Cool clean rainfall on a weary soul Wash away the dust from the gravel lane Listen to the melody of mountain rain [Verse 2] Creek bed filling by the willow tree Setting all the drifting branches free Lantern burning with a steady glow Watching how the gentle currents flow
