On Your Terms

[Verse 1] You called me up that Friday night Said come over, hold me tight I was there in twenty minutes flat You opened up, I loved that [Verse 2] Remember dancing in your room Moonlight spilling through the gloom You decided what we'd do And I was happy following you [Pre-Chorus] But when I take the lead You pull away from me [Chorus] It's always on your terms On your terms, on your terms When you want it, I come running fast But when I reach for you, it doesn't last On your terms You leave me dry and guessing why On your terms [Verse 3] I called you up the other day Said let's do dinner, what d'you say You said you'd rather lay in bed Left me hanging with my head [Verse 4] I remember when I tried to plan You shut it down, wouldn't understand You rub me off like I'm the problem here But I'm just tired of disappearing [Pre-Chorus] I give you everything you need But you won't do the same for me [Chorus] It's always on your terms On your terms, on your terms When you want it, I come running fast But when I reach for you, it doesn't last On your terms You leave me dry and guessing why [Bridge] I'm not asking for the world Just want to lead sometimes too But you keep pulling back the reins And I don't know what to do [Final Chorus] It's always on your terms On your terms, on your terms I can't keep running when you call If you're not giving me anything at all On your terms I'm tired of being dry inside On your terms
