Static in the Courtyard

The streetlights flicker on the avenue We count the seconds till the whistle blows Walking the perimeter of something new Nobody asking where the morning goes Turn up the noise against the cold wind blowing We take the corner before they see us going Shout it out loud over the rumble and the beat Static running wild across the empty street Cobblestone alleys turning into dust Old iron railings turning into rust We keep our rhythm through the pouring rain Running on momentum till we start again
